Tanmay Bhat has once again wowed the internet with his noteworthy weight loss journey. The popular YouTuber and comedian, who first gained limelight for his company All India Bakchod (AIB) which revolutionized the comedy scene in India, shed over 50 kg. While Tanmay has always been regular with posting photos and videos on his social media, it wasn’t until the last couple of months when fans started noting changes in his physique, particularly in August and started asking him about his weight loss secrets and fitness tips. Let’s take a closer look at his journey and the details he has shared.

Ever since he came into the limelight along with his business partners Gursimran Khamba, Ashish Shakya and Rohan Joshi, Tanmay faced brutal trolling and mean comments about his weight. So, it came as no surprise to anyone when he went on a spree to lose that weight during a time when he was at the peak of his career. However, everything came crashing down when AIB was dissolved due to #MeToo allegations. While Tanmay restarted his career during the Covid 19 lockdown, his physical health took a backseat.

During his second go around, Tanmay Bhat focused on fasted cardio and weight lifting which helped him lose over 50 kg along with regular badminton and yoga sessions. Fasted cardio is nothing but doing cardio exercises on an empty stomach, which increases the chance of burning fat as the body does not have immediate access to glucose from recent meals.

In one of his YouTube videos, Tanmay Bhat gave a glimpse of the dedicated approach he took to lose weight. He prioritized his health above all else and dedicated 2 hours in the evening to his workout, something which is non-negotiable with his work engagements. He revealed that he used to find working out cumbersome so he applied the concept of habit-stacking from James Clear’s book Atomic Habits and combined it with playing badminton, an activity he loves!

Overall, Tanmay Bhat highlighted the importance of taking ownership of one’s actions and not blaming peer pressure, society or the stress of a hectic life and career for not taking action. He advised people to focus on things that are in control and that they can change rather than lamenting about things that they can’t!
