Jelly Roll has opened up about his new health and fitness goal during a recent interview on his wife Bunnie XO’s podcast, Dumb Blonde. The 40-year-old music artist, born Jason Bradley DeFord, aims to be featured on the cover of Men’s Health magazine by March 2026.
Expressing his ambition, Jelly Roll stated, “I wanna have one of the biggest transformations.” He shared that he wanted to have this discussion publicly to address his struggles with body image and weight loss. “I did this publicly for a reason. I wanna be honest about my struggles with it with people,” he remarked.
Jelly Roll discussed the challenges faced by individuals in the limelight who struggle with their weight. He revealed that many people who lose weight feel ashamed, often hiding away to undergo their transformations in silence before re-entering the public eye. Jelly Roll, however, aims to approach his weight loss differently, declaring, “I wanted to lose it in front of everybody. I wanted to talk about it.” He noted that despite weighing 550 pounds, he still managed to achieve significant success in his career.
In October, Jelly Roll announced he had successfully lost over 100 pounds in preparation for a 5K race. His wife, Bunnie, joined in on the conversation, emphasizing the importance of open discussions surrounding weight loss. “I think it’s awesome that people get to watch your transformation too because they get to feel like it’s not alone — and people need that right now,” she expressed.
The couple’s candid conversation about weight loss, body image, and the impacts of fame has resonated deeply with fans and sheds light on the importance of honesty in the weight loss journey.
