Residents of Hastings, East Sussex, have the opportunity to participate in free weight-loss courses this coming January, aimed at individuals over 18 with a body mass index (BMI) exceeding 30. These courses are organized by Active Hastings and are a part of the initiatives run by the Hastings Borough Council.
The first course, called Flab-u-less, is set to begin on January 8 and is specifically designed for women. Meanwhile, a mixed course titled Lean Into It will be kick-starting on January 13. Both courses span 12 weeks.
Heidi Tambeh, an instructor of adult weight management with Active Hastings, emphasized that these courses will cover essential aspects of weight loss. Participants will engage in suitable exercises to foster a healthier lifestyle, as well as learn about critical topics such as emotional eating, food label reading, and breaking unhealthy habits.
Classes for Flab-u-less will take place at the Ark Alexandra Academy Dance Studio, and Lean Into It will be hosted at the Hastings Academy located on Rye Road. This initiative provides a comprehensive approach to weight management, integrating physical activity and education on nutrition and emotional wellbeing.
If you’re interested in transforming your lifestyle and learning effective weight loss strategies, consider signing up for these free courses this January.
